What we collect

When you sign in with Apple or Google we receive your name and email address, plus your profile picture if you use Google. With Sign in with Apple you may choose to hide your email; then we only get an Apple private relay address.

Training logs, meal logs, weight, sleep and run data, your goals and targets, your shopping list, and your chats and saved memories with Kettlebell are stored against your account.

Meal and label photos are stored when you upload them.

We keep a log of each AI request: when it happened, tokens used, cost, and the request text without image data. We use it to run the service, apply the daily limit and control costs.

Where it is stored

Your account and app data live on Hetzner servers in Germany (EU).

Photos are stored in Cloudflare R2.

AI features and OpenAI

The AI features are meal recognition from a photo or text, label scanning, voice dictation and Kettlebell chats. They use OpenAI, our processor, through its API. Before you use any of them for the first time, the app asks for your permission to send data to OpenAI. Nothing is sent before you agree.

For meal recognition and label scanning we send the photo and any text or comment you add. For voice dictation, audio is sent to OpenAI only when your device cannot transcribe it on the device; we do not store the audio.

For Kettlebell chats we send your messages and any photos you attach. To answer, Kettlebell also reads your data through tools, and the parts it needs are sent to OpenAI: weight, sleep, meals and nutrition logs, workouts, runs and activities, targets, saved memories, your shopping list and your foods. If it uses web search, the search query goes to OpenAI too.

OpenAI does not use data sent through its API to train its models by default. OpenAI may keep API data for up to 30 days to detect abuse, and then deletes it. We do not share your data with AI providers for anything else.

To stop it, turn off AI in Settings > AI Features. The AI features then stop working and nothing more is sent. You can turn it back on at any time. There is also a daily limit on AI requests per account.

Questions typed into the help box on this website are also sent to OpenAI to write an answer. Please do not put personal information in them.

Connecting an AI app

You can connect an AI app such as Claude to your Progress+ account. When you do, that app can read and change your data when you ask it to. What it does with the data is covered by that app's own privacy policy, not this one.

You can disconnect it at any time by removing the connection in that app, or by emailing [email protected]. Deleting your account also removes every connection.

Ads and tracking

No ads, no tracking, no analytics. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing. The website only uses a session cookie while you sign in.

Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account yourself in the app: Settings > Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and all your data at once: meals, foods, photos, workouts, weight, sleep, activities, targets, Kettlebell chats and memories, shopping list, AI usage log, sessions, and connected AI apps with their tokens. It cannot be undone, and you do not need to email us.

Copies in server backups are removed within 30 days as the backups roll off.

To get a copy of your data, email [email protected]. We reply within 30 days at most.
